Yo, Trav, you may have wondered, how come you label everything "a Bolycule story" if all you fucking post is the Bolycule? Well here's your answer: not everything I post will be the Bolycule! Maybe. Hopefully.

...Ok, this is the only non-Bolycule story I've written so far, and it's just an extension of a background scene from the Bolycule. But it could happen again!

Now seems like a good time to explain how standalones will work when I write them. The Bolycule's normal warnings and disclaimers aren't in effect; things can get a lot more extreme over here. For now, all I have for you is a comparatively tame disposal scene, but do keep that in mind.

Safaa accepts an invitation to a friend's apartment, but quickly discovers Raquel wants something more from her. So after learning of the phoenix's self-image issues - and how being reborn from the ashes actually works - Raquel takes matters into her own hands.

This story is canon to the Bolycule universe, like Packing Away An Anaconda, though also like that story it requires no knowledge of the Bolycule to read. I can simply no longer afford to put every character idea I have in the Bolycule itself; there simply isn't space! But both a phoenix and cockatrice have been properly rattling around my brain as of late... so here they are!
